At Almotassem-Zein, we strive to deliver exceptional quality and service while still putting our planet at the forefront. As a net zero operation, our factory is 100% solar powered, recycles water, and transforms waste into new possibilities.
We generate 100% of our energy through solar power
We're the only net-zero stone factory in Egypt with 100% of our energy consumption covered by solar energy. On holidays or low energy consumption phases, our excess solar energy is injected in the main grid to improve the carbon footprint of other facilities.
Our water is fully recycled with the help of a water purification system
The stone industry is a heavy water consumption industry as water is used extensively for cooling while cutting the stones.

Our system separates the dust and particles from the water, and the water is recycled for production.

Our Water-recycling station has the capacity of cleaning and recycling 5000 L/min (equivalent to 300 000 L/Hr or over 1 Billion liters of water/year).
We recycle waste and by-products
Our raw material is stone. There is a significant waste factor of raw material throughout the different stages of production. The waste factor is in the following formats
Medium-Sized Stone Fragments
These are repurposed into mosaics and decorative accents, adding artistic value to sustainable construction.
Stone Powder
Fine powder is used as filler for bricks and plaster in the building industry.
Small & Tiny Stone Fragments
These pieces are crushed to gravel and used for our terrazzo products or as floor cover for landscape design and used as an aggregate in low performance concrete.
We take measures to optimize our energy efficiency.
To maximize energy efficiency, we have invested in dynamic capacitors that enhance our power factor to nearly 1.0. This results in optimal energy use with minimal waste
